As long established and highly experienced timber engineers, Crendon’s success relies on the skills and experience of its 200+ strong workforce across the regional centres.
Crendon Timber Engineering was formed in 1967 and was one of the pioneers of trussed rafter production in the UK using technology developed and proven in North America.
In the last 40 years the use of trussed rafters has grown tremendously and it is estimated that they now account for over 95% of roofs for the housing market with significant inroads into the commercial market. This dramatic increase in market share has been made possible by the use of design software to produce highly economic structural solutions.
In the early 1990’s Crendon Timber Engineering was appointed the first distributor in England for the Trus Joist Silent Floor I Joist system.
In the early 2000’s Crendon Timber Engineering became an approved UK manufacturer/installer of the advanced Canadian SuperE® timber frame housing system with previously unheard of levels of air tightness, insulation, and resulting low running costs.
A more recent venture has been the establishment of a Heavy Engineering team offering Glulam, Feature Trusses, and Cross Laminated Timber to compliment core products.
Over the years Crendon Timber Engineering has steadily increased it’s product range to include panels, spandrels, open web joists, Finn Forest engineered wood products and now Heavy Engineering. All of these can be offered on a design, supply, and fix basis
